Hi, my name is Jo and I am a Military Spouse – NO I am not a Military Dependant!! I am a spouse!! Of course when my husband wants to get a rise out of me he will use that 1950′s term “dependant spouse”!! In the 4 years that I have been “married to the military” I have PCS’d with my husband 4 times. During the 1st six months we moved from the West Coast to the East Coast to the West Coast. Yep, two cross country moves in 6 months. Well you know “needs of the Navy” and all that jazz!! So in 4 years I have lived in Bremerton, WA – Groton, CT – Twenty-nine Palms, CA – Bremerton, WA – and Anchorage, AK! PCS – Permanent Change of StationI think it is the same all across the branch board – PCS. But then again you know the Navy and they always have different terms for everything!!! Lol!!! I am a Navy spouse so I can “dig” the USN a little!! I really don’t know what the statistics are but more and more military members are buying homes at their new duty station then ever before. We have come to realize that home ownership is for us too!! I know that the lower interest rates and strong economy have enabled military families the joy of purchasing a home. There is nothing like helping a first time home buyer – but there is a special pride I feel when I can help a military first time home buyer. We need to be in the market!!
